On other occasions, when I want to align objects to a grid that I already have as an image, I want to place the image on the back and lock it so I can place the other elements on top of it, then unlock it and delete it.

When designing slides with a lot of overlapping graphical elements (let's say, a big image in the background with other imagens on top of it, and some text elements), in Keynote I always use the Lock option, to prevent myself from selecting and dragging out of place an element that I've already placed where I want it to be. But, since I often prepare slides for my colleagues or bosses, every now and then I find myself using PowerPoint. I prepare presentations frequently, but my app of choice for it is Keynote from Apple, because I consider it more friendly and suited to my needs. I have been a user of Microsoft Office for a few years, since the company I work at uses it company-wide.
